RX-78 Full Size Gundam Launching at Osaka Expo Venue
Osaka, October 23 (Jiji Press)—The company known as Bandai Namco Holdings Inc. has erected what it calls a “life-sized” Gundam statue, in the western Japanese city of Osaka, where the 2025 World Exposition will be hosted.
The new real-life RX-78F00/E Gundam model measures16.5 to 18 meters in height and 48 to 50 tons in weight and will be displayed at Bandai Namco’s plannable experience facility called the “Gundam Next Future Pavilion” in which visitors can ‘experience a space everyday life’.
In the pavilion derived from the science fiction television show “Mobile Suit Gundam” at spaceport format, visitors will be invited to transfer “from earth to a space station via an orbit elevator.” In the world of the proposed future of the series, mobile suits which it categorizes as weapons will be depicted as friendly.
In addition to the pavilion, Bandai Namco is expected to release line of products linked to the pavilion such as plastic model and action figures.
